Bengals Coach Makes A Big Statement About Chase Brown

The Cincinnati Bengals may have stumbled upon a true gem.

Chase Brown entered the league as a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He wasn’t expected to be a star, and the Bengals used him in a committee.

Fast forward to today, and those plans have changed.

More than that, they believe Brown can be a legitimate star.

At least, that’s what offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher told The Athletic.

“I believe Chase Brown is a top-10 back in this league,” Pitcher said. “We’ve got a guy.”

Of course, it’s not like Pitcher is going to say anything different, but he actually has a valid case.

When Zack Moss was injured last season, Brown took over and proved he could handle the full workload.

He did damage between the tackles with his shiftiness and ability to change direction, piling up big gains.

More than that, he was a major factor in the passing game, showing reliable hands.

The Bengals’ offense will be pass-heavy again, of course.

That’s the only way to go when you have Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Nevertheless, Brown will remain a major factor.

He will be there as a pass-catching back, and the fast-paced attack will force opposing defenses to pick their poison, which will give him plenty of wide-open running lanes as well.

The Bengals might struggle to keep opponents from scoring again this season, but they will certainly put up points in bunches, and Brown will have a lot to do with that.
