Colts Made 2 Roster Moves On Monday

The Indianapolis Colts continue to sharpen their defense ahead of the start of the season.

They’ve parted with defensive tackle Josh Tupou and used that roster spot to sign veteran linebacker Anthony Walker Jr.

Walker was a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and rejoins his former team.

In four seasons with Indianapolis, he started 48 of his 57 regular-season games and three playoff games.

Then, he played three seasons with the Cleveland Browns and one with the Miami Dolphins before being released last month.

He has 581 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, four interceptions, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in his eight seasons.

The Colts made this move to add depth with fifth-round pick Jaylon Carlies on injured reserve.

Walker will be with Cameron McGrone, Zaire Franklin, Joe Bachie and Segun Olubi as the linebackers on the 53-man roster.

The Colts will look to bring their defense back with new coordinator Lou Anarumo calling the shots.

They hope that he will fare much better than he did in his final years with the Cincinnati Bengals, who let him go after having one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season.

With Tupou released, the Colts will keep sixth-round pick Tim Smith as the lone defensive tackle on the practice squad.
