The Dallas Mavericks are about to start a brand new chapter in their history, one without Luka Doncic but one with plenty of promise.
Klay Thompson spoke about his team recently, including the input from Anthony Davis, who came to the squad last season.
“AD, when he’s healthy, he is the best power forward, maybe of my generation… I think we personally have the best frontcourt in the NBA when we’re healthy. We have so much depth… And then getting a guy like D-Lo and having guard depth, I’m just really excited,” Thompson said.

Davis came to the Mavericks last season as part of the massive trade that sent Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
During his nine regular-season games with Dallas, Davis averaged 20.0 points and 10.1 rebounds.
Many people feel that he was just finding his footing when the season came to an end, and they are excited to see what he can do with a whole year in 2025-26.
As for Thompson, he produced 14.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists during his 72 games last season.
Everyone in the lineup will need to do a lot more in the new season as they attempt to get by without Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who may be out for the whole year because of his injury.
Thompson has strong faith in his team, and the fans are starting to find their confidence, too.
When Doncic was traded, most people assumed only dark days were ahead for Dallas.
But with the addition of Cooper Flagg and the health of players like Davis, Thompson, and others, people think the Mavericks could have a season to remember.
