Right after their match, the two proceeded to Makati for another tournament with their respective teams in the Shakey’s Super League Pre-season Unity Cup.

The sisters traded playful banter after the game, but both shared that they continue to support each other despite playing in different collegiate leagues.

“Even without saying much, I often chat with them, especially before games. Just being able to message each other is already a big thing. It really gives me strength and motivates me even more during games, knowing that we’re always there for each other,” said Judiel. “And with us siblings, the support is always there, especially from Mama. She’s always there for us, no matter what.”

“I’m not really the type to be super vocal when it comes to helping out. But I make sure they feel my support in the ways I can. I just want them to know that if they ever need me, I’ll always be there,” Shaina added.

Judiel expressed pride in her younger sister’s rapid rise, from winning Rookie of the Year and breaking scoring records in UAAP Season 87 to making it to Alas Pilipinas, which claimed silver in the AVC Nations Cup and two bronze medals in the SEA V-League.

“I’m super proud because she’s really reaching what she’s always wanted in her career. One big factor is that ever since she started playing volleyball, she’s always dreamed of making it to the national team. And now it’s finally happening,” said Judiel.

“Even back in the UAAP, she already made a name for herself. She had already left an impression, but now it’s even more solid because she truly brought life to Adamson. And it just brings so much joy seeing her now standing alongside some of the best in Philippine volleyball.”

Shaina, the Best Player of the SSL National Invitationals Cebu leg, said she dedicates her achievements to her family’s constant support.

“That’s what really built me up. For us siblings, that’s what’s shaping us now, how competitive we are. It’s because of our family. They’re always there for us,” she said. “We may fight sometimes, but at the end of the day, we help each other out and look out for one another.”

Cebu National Invitationals champion Adamson is in Pool B of the SSL with Luzon leg winner Far Eastern University, Arellano, and Jose Rizal University.
