The road to recovery is long, but Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks is clearly on the right path.
Irving has been out of commission for months as he has started rehabilitating from a knee injury.
And although he won’t be with the Mavericks when the season starts next month, he is obviously getting better.
A video shared online featured Irving on a practice court, moving and shooting the ball.
He wasn’t sprinting, but the fact that he is on his feet and posting shots is a great sign for the Mavericks.

Last season, Irving contributed 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists for his Mavericks.
He has a lot of responsibilities for the team, but was saddled with even more when Dallas lost Luka Doncic.
Irving was up for that challenge and embraced the added pressure and expectations.
The Mavericks were planning on Irving being a central part of their plans in 2025-26, and they were heartbroken when he went down with his knee problem.
An injury like this requires a lengthy recovery, but there is some hope that he could suit up for Dallas halfway through the season.
However, some experts think he won’t be able to play until after the All-Star break, if at all.
Irving is a tough competitor and wants to play, but he will be smart and measured about this situation.
He knows that recovery doesn’t happen overnight, and he won’t rush anything, especially at his age.
But he is doing everything in his power to get back to 100 percent.
2025-26 might be a question mark still, but Irving is hoping to help the Mavericks as soon as he can.
